Wisdom Teeth in Brentwood

Extracting third molars, otherwise known as wisdom teeth, is a widespread process in the United Kingdom. These teeth are located in the back of the mouth and are the last to emerge.

Generally, 4 wisdom teeth grow in the four corners of the jaw. Wisdom teeth generally emerge during late teenage or early twenties. By this age, the other 28 adult teeth are normally in place and the mouth is not left with adequate space for the wisdom teeth to develop correctly.

Due to the shortage of space, the wisdom teeth could grow at an angle or become trapped, only appearing partially. Such wisdom teeth are recognised as impacted.
