Tooth Whitening in Brentwood
What is Teeth Whitening
The process of tooth whitening involves using chemicals to remove staining from the teeth, leaving them a lighter shade. Treatment results usually depend on how stained the teeth are at the start. The whitening systems we use are called Enlighten and Pola Day.
Bleaching technology is provided by Enlighten Research Labs – the technology leader in professional teeth whitening. Enlighten’s products conform to international safety criteria and are CE marked where applicable, and Pola Day the leading dentist brand for professional teeth whitening treatment.
It is completely safe. You may get some sensitivity, however your dentist will provide solutions to reduce or eliminate this sensitivity. If you teeth are generally a little sensitivity, Enlighten Whitening may be your best option as this product is targeted to minimize sensitivity. Before your whitening trays are made, you will be given some desensitising pastes that you should use instead of your normal toothpaste. During the whitening, if you still experience sensitivity, desensitising swabs should work immediately. The materials used in both Enlighten and Pola Whitening have been used in dentistry for many years.
The treatment starts off in the surgery, and then you continue the process at home. Your dentist will talk to you about the duration of treatment, the best system to choose, foods to avoid while you’re trying to whiten your teeth, possible side effects and what other appointments you’ll need to make to monitor and maintain your newly whitened teeth.
Results can generally last 2-3 years with some very simple maintenance. Wearing the trays for 1-2 days of application, every 1-2 months will help maintain the results and keep staining to a minimum. Continuing to brush with Tooth Serum will also prolong results.
